Our vision for Belle Vue in Sudbury

Belle Vue

Last weekend we spent an enjoyable morning talking to residents at Sudbury market. One local issue which came up was the resolution of the long running saga of the future of the park at Belle Vue

The image here gives you an idea of how your Lib Dem group would like to see Belle Vue Park 'developed' and after different schemes failed to materialise, we are back with a 'blank' sheet of paper.

We have undertaken a listening exercise to best hear the views of Sudbury residents, and we believe that the park could be opened up so that its visible from the market square. The open space is an important community asset, though underutilised and not as visible as it could be, being hidden behind hedges and walls. By restricting any development on the site means we have the opportunity to make it a key feature in the redevelopment of the town centre

As well as improving the usability of the park, the additional green space will help with mental health, encourage exercise, adding benefits overall for residents younger and older, and importantly, encouraging diversity in wildlife. With the addition of a new café and toilet block we expect the park to receive many more visitors

It's however, YOUR park, and it's important that local residents and stakeholders play an active role in the remodelling of this tremendous community asset. Your Lib Dem group wants to know what you think at baberghliberaldemocrats@gmail.com
