gdsmThe picture is of a food parcel provided for school kids in Finland.

Why show this?

Well Marcus Rashford is back in the news this morning complaining about the quality of some of the school meals being sent to kids now forced to study at home in the UK

His tweet below says it all

The Department for Education have responded saying "We have clear guidelines and standards for food parcels, which we expect to be followed." The children's minister, Vicky Ford, said she would be "urgently" look into the matter.

Chartwells, the company which she said provided the parcel meant to last for 10 days, said it would investigate. It said: "Thank you for bringing this to our attention, this does not reflect the specification of one of our hampers."

Yes we all know that there is a lot going on and Ministers can vet every parcel sent out but this is just unacceptable. The State ie you and me are being charged £30 for these parcels by the private contractor the government has appointed . One mother on Twitter costed her parcel at £5.22 which raises the question of where the rest of the money has gone

This is no way to treat the most vulnerable in our society
