Applause for our medics

March 25, 2020 7:01 PM

8888888 (online marketing)Just a quick reminder that at 8 pm on Thursday 26th March, we are all being encouraged to throw open our doors and windows to offer our applause "to show all nurses, doctors, GPs and carers our appreciation for their ongoing hard work and fight against this virus". Our doctors and nurses are putting themselves in harms way to save lives amongst those who contract the virus. It is a small gesture of thanks that everyone in the country can join in with

Isn't it a shame that the Government amongst all the measures it has taken to contain the virus hasn't seen fit to remove the parking charges for medical staff attending their work. The more shifts they do the more they pay!

A national petition to get this changed has been started. At the time of writing it had amassed over 400000 signatures. UPDATE : The Government have announced they will waive charges during the crisis which is excellent news
