Jo Swinson and Andrew Neil

December 5, 2019 4:46 PM

Jo SwinsonAndrew Neil is the Rottweiler of modern political interviewing. After giving Jeremy a really difficult time for his failure to apologise for anti-Semitism in the Labour Party his reputation as an aggressive and hard hitting interviewer has grown. So much so that of all the main party leaders Mr Johnson has still to agree to be interviewed by him. Another example of his desire to avoid scrutiny and go beyond the odd sound bight

Last night it was Jo Swinson's turn. On a LibDem site you would expect us to say she did well but that seems to be the opinion of most pundits I have read. She answered qustions with clarity, competence and candour. She was very clear that she hadn't got it right on everything in the coalition and said the word that politicians so rarely use - sorry, particularly for helping introduce the bedroom tax

In an election full of half truth ( at best!) such candour was refreshing

You can see what she had to say on Brexit here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM7k3_4reG8
